Booking: Texas Takes Centre Stage

Texas is emerging as one of the standout domestic travel destinations ahead of this summer. Austin recorded the largest increase in accommodation searches overall, soaring an impressive 423% compared to last year, while Houston also saw an increase of 52%.

Austin’s renowned live music scene and packed events calendar continue to attract travelers looking for lively summer escapes. Houston’s rise, meanwhile, points to growing interest in destinations known for their diverse dining scene and easy access to major attractions.

The East Coast Cultural Revival

Historic East Coast cities are also seeing renewed momentum this summer. Flight searches to Boston and Washington, D.C. are significantly outpacing many traditional seasonal leisure routes.

From Boston’s historic neighborhoods and waterfront dining scene to Washington, D.C.’s museums, monuments and summer events, travelers are rediscovering classic American cities through a more cultural, experience-focused lens.

Florida Remains a Summer Staple

While urban destinations are surging, classic warm-weather favorites continue to perform strongly. Miami and Orlando both recorded 43% increases in accommodation searches year over year, reinforcing Florida’s enduring appeal for families and sun-seeking travelers.

At the same time, strong flight search growth for San Francisco (+81%) and San Diego (+47%) highlights continued demand for Californian city escapes that blend coastal scenery, outdoor activities and vibrant food scenes.

Overall, the data points to a broader shift toward flexible, experience-led domestic travel, as Americans look to make the most of summer trips closer to home.
