These are the new salaries of hotel employees in Heraklion, from 1.4.2024

HOTELS MONEY

For the new wages of hotel employees from 1.1.2024, based on the collective agreement informed the Union of Hotel Employees of Heraklion Prefecture, according to which “…for the tourist season 2024 we inform our colleagues that from 01/04/2024 the new basic wages apply with a 5% increase in all specialties based on the Local Collective Labour Agreement which is GENERALLY MANDATORY”.

The wages

The salaries under the collective agreement are as follows:

CATEGORIES

Category A EUR 971,83 (Receptionist, Reservation clerk A, Concierge A, Night watchman A, Maitre d’, Captain Assistant Maitre d’, Custodian, Head of bedrooms and common areas, Controller or Tablist, Cook A, Head of Pastry Department (master craftsman), Bakers, Storekeeper, Public Relations Officer.

B’ Category 950,48 euro (Laundry and linen room supervisor, Receptionist, Reservation clerk B’, Office clerk, Concierge B, Dining room – lounge or loft waiter (steward), Bartender or Barmaid, Cook B’, Pastry chef, Guardian, Meat cutter, Assistant Floor Supervisor ,Gardeners, Electricians Drivers employed by the hotel company for cars to serve all kinds of needs of the hotel company ,including the transportation of guests and staff.

Category C 932,51 euros (Waiter’s assistant, Caterer (valet), Concierge, assistant concierge or buffet or restaurant or bar or linen shop, Groom, Doorman or outside concierge, Porter, Cook C Assistant pastry chef, Custodian of any kind, Maid.

Category D 890,94 euro (Laundress, cleaner, cleaner of public areas, laundress, disc jockey, lifeguard and worker (warehouse, beach cleaner, pool cleaner, general worker).

 

 

-Commission 5,90 euro per year

-Family allowance 10% (married-

Divorced – single parents)

-Tourist education allowance 10% (secondary education-

IEK – post-secondary education),15% Higher School.

-Unhealthy work allowance 10% kitchen staff

7 % waiter-waitress,5 % maid-cleaner-employees

laundry workers.

-Transport allowance from Heraklion to the place of work and vice versa at a distance of more than 7 km from the city centre.

Salaries are based on a working time of 5 days 8 hours (40 hours per week).

Any excess hours are paid according to the labour legislation.

Sundays and public holidays with a 75% increase and night hours with a 25% increase”.

According to the statement signed for the Union of Hotel Employees of Heraklion Prefecture President Nikos Kokolakis and General Secretary Smyrnakis Nikos, “We call on employers to respect and implement the Collective Labour Agreement, employees to protect it and not to make agreements inferior to those provided, to complain if there are cases of non-compliance with the Agreement to the Union and the Labour Inspectorate. Also the control mechanisms both with targeted and on-site inspections to control and implement the Local Collective Agreement and for black and uninsured work”.
