According to Tripadvisor, the list of Europe’s best beaches comes from the Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards for Beaches 2024. In the top positions are Portugal, Italy and Spain. While in quite good positions in the ranking are Crete, Kefalonia and Rhodes.
The list has been compiled from the quality and quantity of Tripadvisor traveller reviews and ratings for beaches around the world between October 2022 and September 2023. Praia da Falésia in Algarve, Portugal, has been crowned Europe’s top beach. It also wins the world ranking, knocking six-time champion Baia do Sancho in Brazil off the top spot.
Tripadvisor reports: “Praia da Falésia is known for its stunning cliffs, golden sand and sparkling blue waters. Sunbathe on the vast coastline, swim or surf the waves, or take a walk along the scenic path at the top of the cliffs for incredible views.”
In second place is Spiaggia dei Conigli in Lampedusa, Italy and in third place is La Concha beach in San Sebastian, Spain.
In 6th place is Falassarna beach in Crete. Tripadvisor says of the beach. Falassarna beach is all about the view. In 8th place is Myrtos in Kefalonia, in 12th place is Anthony Queen beach in Rhodes and in 14th place is Matala in Crete.
