United Airlines Resumes Seasonal Service Between Athens and New York/Newark

United Airlines has resumed its daily nonstop seasonal service between Athens and New York/Newark. The service is planned to operate until 29 October 2022 and will be joined next month by United’s daily nonstop seasonal service from Athens to Washington D.C., set to start on 7 May 2022.

“We are delighted to return to Athens in 2022 and resume nonstop services from Greece to the United States,” said Bob Schumacher, United Director Sales. “With the return of service to New York and next month to Washington D.C., our customers in Greece can take advantage of direct connections to the U.S., as well as an unrivalled route network from United’s hubs at New York/Newark and Washington Dulles, which offer convenient nonstop connections to over 95 destinations across the Americas. Starting in May, both flights will be operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliners, offering customers the latest in comfort and service, featuring the all-aisle access United Polaris suite and the United Premium Plus cabin.”

United’s service from Athens to New York/Newark is currently operated with Boeing 767-400 aircraft, featuring 39 United PolarisSM business, 70 Economy PlusSM, and 131 economy seats.   Effective 7 May 2022, the route will be operated with Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft, featuring 44 all-aisle-access United Polaris business, 21 United Premium Plus, 54 Economy PlusSM and 199 economy seats.

United’s service from Athens to Washington Dulles will be operated with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, featuring 28 all-aisle-access United Polaris business, 21 United Premium Plus, 36 Economy Plus and 158 economy seats.

The revolutionary design of the Dreamliner offers customers many features for increased comfort, such as large windows, spacious overhead storage and modern LED lighting to simulate a full day, helping passengers adjust their internal clock on the transatlantic flight. In addition, a lower cabin altitude, cleaner air and smoother ride help customers feel rested on arrival.

United has been serving Greece with summer seasonal flights since 2016.  In addition to the daily seasonal service from Athens to Washington Dulles which began in 2021, United offers a daily seasonal service from Athens to New York/Newark.
