A Greek hotel is included in Which?‘s list of the world’s most affordable five-star hotels, which includes luxury yet affordable hotels in Vietnam and Cambodia, Romania, Turkey, Spain and many other destinations.
The Greek presence in Which?’s ranking is the Green Suites Boutique Hotel, in the Ano Patission area of Athens, a hotel which, as it states on its website, is an ideal destination for every eco-conscious traveller.
The price per night, in a double room, is £126.
Which? analysts looked at lists of hotels advertised as five-star hotels on Hotels.com to discover the most budget luxury hotels around the world, excluding those with a customer rating lower than eight out of 10, or those in particularly inaccessible locations.
The cheapest hotel among the 76 countries Which? looked at was the Emerald Bay Hotel & Spa, in Nha Trang, Vietnam. At the bargain price of £22 a night, guests can enjoy sea views from a rooftop terrace, as well as access to a private beach.
The Angkor Miracle Resort and Spa, in Cambodia, was the second cheapest five-star hotel spotted by Which? – at just £49 a night.
The huge rooms feature traditional Cambodian décor, with dark wooden floors and carved furniture, while an infinity pool dominates the outdoor area.
One guest said it was an “incredible resort”.
The cheapest hotel on European soil is the AC Hotel Palacio, in Arroyo de la Encomienda, Valladolid, Spain, at a cost per night of just £78.
The price of the hotels was found on Hotels.com and is for a two person stay on 2 August, in a double room.
“A five-star hotel may seem very expensive for the average holidaymaker, but we have found impressive levels of luxury for as little as £22 per night. If you can afford the flight, South East Asia has the cheapest five-star hotels, but even if you don’t want to travel that far, there are plenty of affordable options closer to home,” said Rory Boland, editor of Which? Travel.
