World Culinary Awards 2025: Three Greek hotel restaurants at the top of gastronomy

The World Culinary Awards is a global initiative that recognizes and rewards excellence in the culinary industry. The winners of the 2025 program were announced this year at the celebratory dinner in Sardinia, Italy, specifically at the Forte Village Resort. Among the best restaurants worldwide, three are Greek.

Among the best restaurants in the world was the Italian Le Calandre, which was voted for the coveted title of “World’s Best Restaurant”. However, a fine dining experience in a beautiful setting helped Ossiano Restaurant @ Atlantis the Palm Dubai win the “Best Fine Dining Experience in the World” award.

As for Greece, three hotel restaurants were the ones that received an award at the World Culinary Awards. The Atria Restaurant hotel located within the One and Only Kea Island has been named Europe’s Best New Hotel Restaurant 2025. It was awarded for its particularly relaxed atmosphere and for its menu that includes local flavors.

In addition to the distinction, Makris Restaurant by Domes promises a unique and special culinary experience. As Money & Tourism has already published, the restaurant is housed in a building full of history, as chef Petros Dimas expands the boundaries of gastronomic creation to showcase the rich heritage of Greek cuisine. The way chefs approach their creations, choose their ingredients, and communicate their philosophy to their customers raises awareness and influences not only the culinary scene in Athens, but also the entire country.

As for the title of Greece’s Best Hotel Restaurant 2025, it belongs to Nectar at SandBlu Santorini. This one has a rich modern menu and relaxing music that creates a peaceful atmosphere.

This year’s World Cheese Awards proved to be a global gathering of the culinary industry, with pioneers, influencers, and top personalities from around the world attending the award ceremony at the Forte Village Resort.

The results are from a year-long survey of the world’s top culinary brands. Votes were taken by professional chefs and the general public, with the candidate receiving the most votes in a category, making them the winner.

Rina van Staden, Director of the World Cheese Awards, said: “The winners of the 2025 World Cheese Awards really show what it means to keep striving for culinary excellence, innovating, pushing boundaries and delivering only the best. Congratulations to all the same people.
