Eurocontrol: Air traffic in Greece at 50% of 2019 levels this year

The total number of flights to and from Greece this year will return to about half of the levels of 2019, while in 2022 it will approach 70%, according to the latest data published by Eurocontrol.

• Total flights lost since 1 March 2020: 350,000 flights
• Current flight status: 1020 daily flights or -47% vs 2019 (7-day average)
• Traffic forecast: 47% of 2019 in 2021 & 69% in 2022 2
• GDP: +1.9% in 2021 & +12.0% in 2022 (vs. previous year) 3
• Vaccination: 26.38 per hundred people fully vaccinated 4
• Busiest airport: Athens with 483 average daily flights1 (-35% vs. 2019)
• Busiest airline: Aegean with 234 average daily flights1 (-41% vs. 2019)
