Extensive checks were carried out throughout Greece, from early Saturday evening until the early hours of Sunday morning, by auditors of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (IAPR).

The target of the business was halls, where events with many participants are held (baptisms, weddings, club pies, etc.).

The checks were carried out simultaneously in Attica, Thessaloniki, Larissa, Kozani, Lamia, Alexandroupoli and Patras, with the participation of 40 inspectors.

The operation was coordinated by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue’s operations room in Athens.

In total, 36 inspections were carried out, during which tax infringements were detected in 22 businesses (61% rate of delinquency), while 9 of them were closed for 48 hours.

Inspections are continuing in other areas, while these businesses have been targeted to record their wider tax behaviour.
