London on the verge of a new occupancy record in 2015

In the third quarter this year, the British capital welcomed 5.2 million international visitors, or 5.9% more than during the same period in 2014.
London should end there year 2015 with tourism following a positive trend. The British capital showed a new increase in international arrivals by 5.9% in the third quarter of the year, with 5.2 million tourist arrivals. This growth occurred within a favorable national context, when 10.5 million foreign visitors traveled to the United Kingdom on the same period, meaning 4.7% more than in 2014.
National tourism in the capital is also following a growth curve in 2015. On the first nine months of the year, 9.3 million British traveled to London, generating 2.25 billion pounds sterling in revenues for the city’s economy.
London’s tourism sector should continue to grow in 2016 as British authorities expect another increase in arrivals nationwide. They expect to see a 3.7% increase in the number of foreign visitors, which should reach 36.7 million for some 23 billion in revenues. The capital will live to the beat of several major events, such as the 40th anniversary of Punk, the exhibition on the Rolling Stones, the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, and Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday.
