Qatar Airways’ cutting-edge Airbus A350-1000 lands in Athens for the first time

Qatar Airways, the leading airline company, is pleased to announce that it is the first airline ever to bring the state-of-the-art Airbus A350-1000 to Greece for a one-off visit, servicing its Athens-Doha route.

The world’s most technologically advanced passenger aircraft, which is also the first Airbus that features the airline’s award-winning Business Class seat, Qsuite, and offers a First Class experience in Business Class for both business and leisure travelers, visited Athens International Airport last Saturday, bringing to the travellers the very latest in aerodynamics, design and advanced technology.

Theresa Cissell, Qatar Airways Country Manager for Greece and Cyprus said: “We are proud to be the first airline to fly our Airbus A350-1000 to Greece, for a special one-off flight. This remarkable aircraft is able to provide a significant increase in capacity on one of our most popular routes, offering enhanced levels of comfort for our passengers. We always strive to provide our passengers with the most advanced aircrafts to fly in comfort and style and our new A350-1000 provides this in abundance.”

The A350-1000 offers a total of 327 seats across two cabins, with 46 award-winning Qsuite Business Class seats and 281 18-inch extra wide Economy Class seats. It offers enhanced levels of passenger comfort, thanks to the lowest twin engine noise level of any aircraft, advanced air conditioning technology and full LED mood lighting.

Qatar Airways already flies the ultra-modern Airbus A350-900 to its Athens route providing the utmost travel experience and allowing travelers to enjoy unprecedented levels of comfort and innovation that will meet their demands.

With high-definition touch screens and dual-screen function that allows for simultaneous viewing, passengers can enjoy countless entertainment options through the airline’s award winning Oryx One entertainment system, as well as connect to the internet using the OnAir Wi-Fi service.

The national carrier of the State of Qatar is one of the fastest-growing airlines operating one of the youngest fleets in the world. Now in its twentieth year of operations, Qatar Airways has a modern fleet of more than 200 aircraft flying to business and leisure destinations across six continents.

The award-winning airline has received a number of accolades this year, including ‘Airline of the Year’ by the prestigious 2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards, which was held at the Paris Air Show. This is the fourth time that Qatar Airways has been given this global recognition as the world’s best airline. Qatar Airways operates three daily flights from and to Athens and four weekly flight to Thessaloniki. From 30 May 2018 the airline is operating a new seasonal route from and to Mykonos, adding a third destination to the country, which will operate four flights per week until 14 October 2018.
