Countries that wish to replace Turkey and Egypt as destinations for Russian tourists in winter are ready to offer certain discounts. Israel, Bulgaria, and Greece are among them. Rostourism head Oleg Safonov made the comment, as cited by RIA Novosti.
Speaking at a meeting with lawmakers with the United Russia party, he commented Russian tourist destinations could fully replace foreign ones in summer.
Russia, however, does not have lots of winter tourism alternatives, according to Safonov.
“There are lots of countries ready to offer special conditions for our tourists. These are Israel, Bulgaria, Greece, Vietnam, Thailand, China, Sri Lanka, South India [the southern area of India],” he remarked.
