The Civil Aviation Authority (Civil Aviation Authority/H.A.S.P.- Hellenic Aviation Service Provider) announces that the provisional statistics for February 2024 for all airports in Greece (Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”, 24 airports managed by CAA, 14 regional airports managed by Fraport Greece), show that the total number of passengers handled at airports in Greece (international and domestic passenger arrivals and departures) reached 2,405,625, compared to 2,079,567 passengers in February 2023.
There is also an increase in the first two months of the year with 4,812,426 passengers in 2024, compared to 4,289,160 passengers in the first two months of 2023. Based on the statistics, there was a 15.7% increase in passenger traffic in February 2024, compared to February 2023. Also, in the first two months of 2024 there was a 12.2% increase in passenger traffic, compared to the first two months of 2023.
Aircraft movements
For the same period under consideration, the provisional statistics for flights (domestic and international aircraft arrivals and departures) are as follows: In February 2024 there were 22,005 flights, compared to 19,709 flights in 2023, with the air traffic index this year showing an increase of 11.6%, compared to 2023. Also, 44,769 flights were made in the first two months of 2024, compared to 42,037 flights in the first two months of 2023, with an increase of 6.5% compared to last year.
