New alert from EasyJet after a sudden change in its flights

AIR NEWS

Agents and passengers panicked at the messages they received from the crew about flight cancellations, which set off a general alarm. So they rebooked tickets from scratch with extra charges.

Its message, sent on Sunday, said the flights on 30 April had been cancelled ‘due to the evolving events in Israel’.

The flights included Belfast to Faro, Corfu, Luton and Newcastle, Edinburgh to Bristol, Geneva and Santorini, London Stansted to Glasgow, and Glagow to London Gatwick.

Passengers took to social media to ask why flights not operating near the Middle East conflict zone, including many domestic routes, were cancelled. The situation was confusing as flights were still showing up on easyJet’s system.

ΕasyJet sent an update about an hour later, saying the message “was incorrect and was sent in error”, clarifying that flights were still operating. However, some passengers had already followed the advice contained in easyJet’s original message and had re-booked an alternative flight.

“This was due to a technical error and all customers were quickly sent update messages confirming that their flight was operating normally. We would like to apologise for this incident and for any inconvenience caused. Any customer who made alternative arrangements can contact customer services to have the problem resolved for them.” EasyJet officials said.

However, the travellers were not delayed at all and discredited EasyJet’s airline on Twitter regarding the issue of paying cancellation fees after the airline refused to pay the taxes.
